One of the most surprising things about the Sydney Botanical Gardens are the huge fruit bats that hang like giant seed pods from all the branches of many trees in the heart of the garden. Big enough to be properly called “flying foxes” these beasties are big as a cat and VERY loud. See my flickr stream for more pics of these cuties.
