Packs are full - leaving tomorrow
I have an Osprey Porter 90 bag that is reasonably full, but with one decent nook ready to receive my camera gear once I arrive in Sydney. I have one Northface day pack that is stuffed with snacks, lot’s of reading material, music and other small traveling niceties like ear plugs, camp pillow, light jacket and water bottle.
My large pack also contains a couple bags of snacks for all of the traveling I’ll be doing, mostly high density trail bars and electrolyte replenishment stuff. I figure I’ll shed a few pounds of mass from my combined carrying weight over time. The reading material is especially dense and heavy, probably more than 2-3 reams of paper in my bags! Yikes. That will be shed away very fast I suspect.
My last carry-on bag is a small but roomy canvas messenger bag. Fits my camera bag perfectly, so I’ll reuse the canvas bag as needed when the camera is properly stored in the main pack.
Two pairs pants, three shorts plus swim trunks. A week of boxers, t-shirts and a few collared shirts. Low-cut hiking boots, Keen sandals. Towel, sleep sak and bathroom gear. Rain jacket and hat. Dive mask, snorkal, shortie, knife and reef shoes.
And finally, enough sunscreen and Mozzie-away to keep my skin in one piece.
